Disney Characters Come to Life

I am always looking for hints of Disney in the "real" world. It helps keep life interesting. I was delighted when I saw this image posted on Facebook today. It's real life Bambi and Flower!

I hope you enjoyed this dose of Daily Disney Cuteness.

Character Meals vs Character Meet & Greets

When it comes to visiting the Disney Resorts getting the perfect photo with your favorite character is usually at the top of the to do list.

There are two different ways you can go about creating these memories. Meet and Greets in the parks, or a character dining experience at one of the Disney dining locations.

My husband and I have done both and depending on the nature of our trip will do both again.

There are a lot of great things about the in park Meet and Greets.

My husband and I never go into the parks with a set plan. We used to, but after several years and several trips we are more "go with the flow" these days. I love randomly coming across a character we haven't met yet, and jumping on the line to meet them. I like the surprise aspect. I also like the type of interactions you can have in the parks.

When we met Lilo and Stitch it was almost like a full out show. Stitch played hide and seek using the guests as things to hide behind. They danced with everyone as a group and posed for photos with everyone without really having to wait on a line. They signed autographs and stole our pens and it was just a fun time.

I like that you can get two characters at once depending on the set up which can create some great photo opportunities.

Meeting characters during a Character Dining Experience is great too!

It's air conditioned, you KNOW you will get to meet the characters regardless of how hot it is and you won't be stuck waiting on line only to be the one right as the character takes a break leaving you stand a few minutes before they come back.

You get to relax and eat and enjoy the fun interactions the characters have at your table. Piglet was appalled when he saw that I had bacon on my plate. Pooh tried to steal my honey!
I also love that at certain dining locations like Cape May Cafe, and Chef Mickey's the characters are wearing costumes you will not see them in anywhere else.

Meeting characters is always a highlight of any trip to Disney, whether we wait on line to do it or enjoy a relaxing meal while letting the characters come to us.

Which do you prefer?

Brave – The Highland Games Tournament Runs June 1-July 8 at Epcot

The Disney Parks Blog announced today that the Magic Kingdom meet and greet isn't the only Brave touch coming to the Walt Disney World theme park.

Starting June 1st and running through July 8th the  "Brave - Highland Games Tournament" will offer children games like Mini Caber Toss, Cake Toss, Haggis Flip and archery.

There is also going to be a kids' playground with free wifi for those of us too old to participate in the tournament.

If you happen to be in EPCOT during these dates be sure to drop by the Rose Walk (where Future World and World Showcase meet) to participate in this fun event.

The tournament will take place from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., daily. Park admission is required.

If that doesn't satisfy your hunger for all things Brave then hop on the monrail and go visit Merida at her new interactive meet and greet at Magic Kingdom. More info can be found here.

Brave Character Meet & Greet Opening at Magic Kingdom

Rumor has it that Merida from Disney's new movie Brave will start appearing in front of Fairytale Castle tomorrow, May 11. Her new home inside Fairytale Gardens is rumored to be opening on May 18, 2012.

To find her head over to the area to the right of the front of Cinderella's Castle look for the entrance right before the bathrooms on your way to the tea cups and raceway. It used to be Rapunzel's meet and greet area. I won't lie. I'm sad to see that go.  I am excited about the possibilities for this experience though. The movie looks great and the interactions they have mentioned seem really cool for boys and girls alike.

Here is a sneak peak at what the area is supposedly going to look like when it's finished:

After some quick investigating I've come across a few videos from EPCOT where Merida has already been making an appearance. I must say, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, Disney needs to have higher standards when it comes to their face characters. There is one very animated lass who seems like she'd be perfect, except she just looks too old. I know the girl is probably in like her early 20's or something, but honestly, she just doesn't look like the character at all other than her crazy hair. I do enjoy her personality, but everything else just rubs me the wrong way. Lord Hill agrees. SO After seeing photos of her and some quick videos of her I went on a google search to see what I could find and I am so glad I did b/c I came across this gem of a video. I am so happy she exists and I desparately hope I get to meet HER specifically.
She looks like a cartoon character with her fabulous big eyes and her voice is perfect and she looks to be the perfect age. LOVE HER. Can't wait to check out this meet and greet experience when it finally debuts in the Magic Kingdom.

Many fhanks to Chelsea a fellow Mickey's Dream Vacations agent and blogger for the info that the meet and greet was opening. Be sure to check out her blog!

Disney Blog Hop: Pirate Edition

It was our anniversary and it had been pouring all day long. We dipped inside to partake in a drawing class and get out of the rain. I admit that I was a little cranky. Well, that all ended the second I spotted Smee across the way.

I jumped up off the floor and ran over like an excited little kid. I had to drag Smee back over to the waiting area because hubby was all the way over there with the camera. Totally cheered me up for the rest of the day.

Come join the blog hop for more pirate fun!

Disney (Almost) Wordless Wednesday

I dedicate this post to my mother. The woman who introduced me to all things Disney. Today marks 6 months since God called her home. I hope she's telling Walt lots of good things about me.

Focused on the Magic

As for the this week's theme... well, I couldn't pic a photo to represent the entire year, so I'm cheating and picking a photo to use for the month of January... this was taken right after midnight on New Year's Eve 2008 so it was technically January 1, 2009.

Project Z Partially Revealed

I've been waiting for more news on this forever. I just happened to check out VinylmationKingdom.com today and was super excited to see this post!

http://vinylmationkingdom.com/?p=5249

It appears to be the yeti in front of Expedition Everest. I'm intrigued! Does this mean the yeti will be the new form or perhaps they will be making all new forms for different attractions. Maybe there is a vinyl Figment on an actual Figment mold in the future!?!

I can't wait to find out more!

Disney Flashback Friday: My mom kissed another man at Disney!

A few years ago my parents did the unthinkable. That's right, they went to Walt Disney World, and they didn't take me with them!! They did however take their grandchildren. I was devastated and jealous beyond belief. I "got over it" but it always bugged me b/c Disney was "our" thing. Anyway, I am now officially over it, b/c I understand why it went down like this. My mom didn't want me to see her kiss someone other than my father, especially not in public. She didn't want to put me through the visual confirmation of the love affair I had guessed years earlier. Well, she should have done a better job at hiding the evidence!!

My mom, and her love, Eeyore. She even took her glasses off for him!
