Happy Father's Day

In light of recent events, it has been hard for me to find time to write. My mother isn't doing as well as I'd like, and in fact she is spending the night in the ICU. I wanted to write a post for my dad for father's day but I keep getting too choked up to get anything good out. So instead, I'm going to direct you to my other blog where I have a  father's day post from 2009.

My dad is my hero, my rock. No man will ever be able to fill his shoes, but my husband has all of my dad's best qualities. It saddens me that my father is spending the night alone, while the love of his life lays in a hospital bed, and there is nothing I can do to make things right. All I can do is tell you how amazing he is and send a prayer up to heaven to hopefully help him get the sleep that I cannot seem to find.

Please CLICK HERE to read about my amazing dad.

I'd also like to give a shout out to some of my favorite Disney dads...
KingTritan
Maurice
Mufasa
Geppetto
The Sultan
Marlin
and of course Pongo.

Happy Father's Day!

Who is your favorite Disney dad? I only covered the animated movies I love, I'd really like to hear who your favorites are from all Disney films, and why!

SPOILER ALERT!!!! TANGLED

This is for @DisneysBestCM over on twitter. I promised to tell him the end of the movie but didn't want to ruin it for everyone else out there. So this is your warning. If you do not want to know what happens at the end of the movie, please stop reading now.

This might be slightly out of order but gives you all the good stuff...
Rapunzel figures out that her "mother" isn't really her mother. Flynn Rider gets seriously injured. Rapunzel plans to save him with her hair. He chops all of her hair off. Old witch lady freaks out. I think she dies but honestly, I don't remember. They end up back at the castle, king and queen realize she is their daughter. All is right in the world. They do not get married at the end of the movie.

Something About Me Saturday Blog Hop

While catching up on twitter and the blogs I follow I came across the Something About Me Saturday blog hop.

I thought this might be a great time to tell you a bit about myself and in order to keep myself from boring you to death, I'll only share a few tidbits a week. I love the idea of this hop and I'm excited to learn more about the bloggers behind the blogs I follow.

Let me start with why I haven't been blogging much lately... I've had a lot on my mind and have been spending a lot of time soul searching and quite honestly, hiding under the covers.

My mom is currently battling stage IV metastatic melanoma. This is the hardest and scariest thing that I have ever dealt with. I am so happy that I got to spend her birthday with her in Disney, even if we didn't make it to any of the parks. We rode the Characters in Flight balloon ride and while I was terrified, it was an amazing experience and I am so glad I got to do it with her.

Disney Blog Hop - Disney Firsts

While I may not remember my first trip to Walt Disney World, I definitely remember my husband's.
I went out of my way to surprise him with the trip for Christmas/his birthday. We had gotten married in March, and had discussed a Disney honeymoon but I really wanted to go somewhere that neither of us had gone before. He seemed a little upset, so without him knowing, I booked a hotel, flights, dining plan, reservations, and even spoke to his boss about getting him time off without him knowing.

Christmas Eve is gift exchange time on my side of the family. I gave him an odd mix of Disney things like a pair of POTC swim trunks, and Mickey and Friends pens. At his mom's I gave him a Mickey and Minnie tree topper, a personalized Disney towel, and his stocking was full of odds and ends all Disney related. Seeing his face when he realized we were going to Disney was priceless.

What was even better was him realizing we would be leaving on New Year's Eve and get to ring in the new year in the Magic Kingdom as well as be there for his birthday.
One of my favorite firsts for this trip was seeing Cinderella's Castle lit up for the winter holidays. I only remember being there in February as a kid so this was super special for both of us.
The countdown and fireworks at the Magic Kingdom was also a first and it was AMAZING.
It was my first time staying on Disney property. I will never stay off property again.

It was hubby's first time at Downtown Disney.

This was our first day at Epcot. (those are hubby's first pair of Mouse Ears!)

Hubby's first time meeting Chip and Dale.
This was my first trip to Disney since Animal Kingdom opened, so this was our first Safari ride!
There were so many firsts this trip... and yet, every time we go back there are more firsts waiting for us. That's what I love about Disney, there is always something new to experience.
